When the urine is light the whole day, transparent, almost colorless and the child gets thirsty every two to three hours, it indicates that everything is fine. The urge for urination should be present every two to three hours as well. Correct water balance is usually re-established within two to three weeks and, even in more severe cases, within no more than two to three months.
