What are consequences of vision problems?

Visual disturbances pose a very complex problem.

The greatest disadvantage of glasses and contacts is that they fix the deteriorated condition of the eye at the current level. Instead of the muscles working toward improved vision, they adapt to the glasses or contacts. This effect causes the eye muscles to become tensed even more.

On the other hand, without glasses, the child will squint and put even more strain on the eye muscles. Moreover, leaning forward also results in bad posture, muscle cramps, decrease blood flow to the eyes, and further damage. Ultimately, squinting creates a vicious cycle which resulting in declining vision.

Glasses stabilise visual disturbances and prevent the development of muscle cramps resulting from bad posture. Glasses make eyes focus, but not in the same manner that eye muscles would normally would. Overall, the more we wear glasses the weaker our eyes will become. Glasses have their advantages and their disadvantages and that is why the optimal solution is to prevent the need for glasses with frequent eye exercise!

When a child has visual problems, his or her eyes tend to tire easily and their ability to perform declines. This is where the vicious circle begins: deterioration of vision can be prevented with glasses, but glasses will not cure the problem. In fact, the tiredness of the eyes will not stop entirely, it will only be toned down a little.

Again: the solution is prevention with eye exercises!
