The basic rules of breathing exercises

1. Always start breathing exercises with exhaling! It is important to empty used air out of your lungs and fill them with clean air.

2. If you get dizzy during training, lie down on the floor right away and carry on practising on the floor. This is natural and can be observed in the case of 90% of people.

3. Before practising examine how you are feeling and accept yourself the way you are. Take 5 normal breaths, then 5 deep breaths, and in the meantime, concentrate your attention inwards.

4. Don't force your practising or improvement, be patient, and draw power from the small changes!

5. The place where you practise breathing exercises should be a quiet, silent corner that is easy to ventilate. The quality of your body determines your whole life, so give it everything you can.

6. Practise every day at the same time, so that the breathing exercises easily become part of your life.

7. The first rule of correct breathing is to both inhale and exhale through the nose. The nose not only filters and warms the air but it also detects toxins, in addition its most important role is the intensive intake of the energy. We enjoy the vitalising power of fresh air passing in through our nose while taking excursions in the mountains, and not through our mouth. The mouth is not for breathing but for eating and talking. You don't eat through your nose, so don't breathe through your mouth!

8. Pay attention to another thing: breathe in through your nose during sleeping, because if you do it through your mouth, your body gets much less energy and it will be more difficult to wake up.

9. Intensive muscle-work (like running, weight-lifting) needs more oxygen, therefore, in these cases, you must breathe both through your nose and mouth.
